Flickr, Vimeo, Bloglines…and maps

Here are 4 web 2.0 services I really do like. You can use them to share photos, videos, read RSS based content or find places. Enjoy.
Using tags, users can search for photos of specific content and label their photos with tags so they’re easy to find. Uploading tools allow batch uploading quickly, so users do not have to worry about sorting through photos they dislike. Flickr uses AJAX-technology extensively, so no page reloading occurs. This means that users can add more tags to a photo or add a comment swiftly and without refreshing. Flickr is free but has some limitations, such as the amount a user can upload if they are not a “pro” member.
One of the better features of Vimeo is that it makes most videos easily accessible. All videos are converted to Quicktime, making them easy to view and download, but if the old format is what users normally like to view, Vimeo maintains it in its original context. Comments on videos are kept very clean and neat and the best part is that it’s free.
Users can then log in from any computer to check their news and blog entries. Bloglines goal is to keep users happy. Users can publish their own blog whilst they can share their favorite blogs with friends so they know what you read, and vice versa.
