Cuill (pronounced “cool”) is a new start up search engine.

The company claims it can index web pages faster and cheaper than rival Google

Cuill has stated to investors that their cost of indexing, which will be based on new relevance methods and new search architectures ,will be 1/10th the cost of Google’s.

This is a pretty impressive claim and their claim is being supported by a few search industry professionals, some of which include ex-Google search engine experts.

An interesting occurrence in this story is that Google are paying particular interest to the Cuill start up and a potential acquisition is in the offing.

Cuill is set to launch in 2008, but if the persistent rumours are to be believed then it will have been acquired well before then.

YouTube clone acquired by television station.

Germany’s biggest television station, ProSiebenSat1 Media, has bough a 70% stake in German media sharing website MyVideo.de for an estimated $26 million.

The broadcaster already owned 30% of the website. MyVideo.de was launched in 2006 and is a German clone version of YouTube.

The German clone networks including Facebook clone StudiVZ, have so far exceeded market demand.
