With this money received VideoEgg plan to accelerate the development of their ads and international sales network. VideoEgg want to move their ad network from an impression model to an engagement model whilst making advertisements more social.
Cuill has stated to investors that their cost of indexing, which will be based on new relevance methods and new search architectures ,will be 1/10th the cost of Google’s. This is a pretty impressive claim and their claim is being supported by a few search industry professionals, some of which include ex-Google search engine experts. An interesting occurrence in this story is that Google are paying particular interest to the Cuill start up and a potential acquisition is in the offing. Cuill is set to launch in 2008, but if the persistent rumours are to be believed then it will have been acquired well before then.
The broadcaster already owned 30% of the website. MyVideo.de was launched in 2006 and is a German clone version of YouTube. The German clone networks including Facebook clone StudiVZ, have so far exceeded market demand. |
