Introducing The Directory Network Association

Probably you have heard about our DNA network by now since we have been promoting this very unique opportunity to our community for about a week.

If you haven’t for some reason, please head over to the following page and scroll past the list of domains to find out what the talk of the town is. All I can say that this opportunity is HOT!

Check it out now:

http://www.dnamembers.com/sales.php

We sold (so far) 85 domains in our new Directory Network Association (DNA).

The directory has a TON of really great cities left. So for the majority we didn’t sell, we are inviting you to check it out.

This directory network is something far bigger than internet marketing and is putting us out there on the web, along with our domain owners around the globe, in a very very big way.

The feedback about this entire idea has been phenomenal!

To see all the details and get the flavor of the two webinars we did that created this whole frenzy, go to http://www.DNAmembers.com and scroll past the list of cities.

Here’s something new too:

When we started talking to you about the Directory Network Association and the list of cities we had available for the network, we quickly realized some folks would want to get into the network with their own domains.

The reasons for this could be that your city wasn’t on our list or that you wanted to work with a city you are familiar with that, again, we didn’t have in inventory.

The application to join DNA with your own domain is up and located at:

http://dnammembers.com/app.html

Please read the page carefully as we do have a couple rules for joining the network with your own domain.

Chief among them is that your domain doesn’t compete with any of the cities in our network and that your domain starts with “directoryof.”

So, to everyone who has been registering directoryof domains for this part of the program, you can now head over to:

5 Tips to Write Killer Blog Headlines

Friday, July 25, 2008

If you are writing a regular blog with frequent posts, how can you get your readers to keep coming back for more?

How can you hook them into reading your posts, clicking on your links, returning regularly to your site, and ultimately purchasing your goods or services?

Here are 5 helpful tips and strategies to get you moving toward writing those killer headlines that will hook your visitors and leave them wanting for more:

1. Tell a secret to your visitors.

Or at least suggest that you’re about to tell one. Seriously, there’s nobody that can resist this type of headline. “The Secret to Killer Headline Writing” will get your readers interested. “The Secret to Making More Money While Working Less” is definitely a keeper, too. Nobody will pass that up!

2. Remember that social pressure still works wonders.

Try something like, “What Everyone Should Know About Teeth Whiteners,” “Natural Solutions for Fighting Adult Acne” or “What Your Mortgage Broker is Not Telling You” will make them very curious.

Your visitors want to feel like they are getting information from you that they can’t get somewhere else. Making your readers feel like it’s important information, that it will make their lives better, that they can’t live without it, and that everyone would want to know this will make them keep reading.

3. Similarly, suggesting that your readers need some sort of improvement in an area of their life will reel them in.

“Get Your Body Back In Shape Now” or “Quit Waiting For That Promotion” are both lead-ins that few readers can refuse to peek at.

4. Try offering your visitors lists of important tips, like a Top 5 or Top 10 list.

“The Top 10 Reasons to Try Health Tourism” tells your readers that you’re on top of the issues they are interested in. This will instantly let your reader know that there is quick and useful information to follow.

Readers don’t like to sift through endless pages of prose to get to the meat-and-potatoes part of your post. Bulleting a list of the top tips will help you keep their interest.

5. Ask an interesting question, and suggest that you are about to provide an amazing answer to that question.

Try using something like, “Why Write Great Blog Headlines?” or “Should You Be Worried About Your Child’s Weight?”

Great headlines for your blog posts are important for gaining and keeping your visitor’s interest.

Without having a good hook right at the start, they might just as well click to another site—and they will.

The longer that you can keep them on your site, the more likely they are to return, making them more likely to eventually be sending some funds your way, whether by eventually purchasing from you or clicking on some of your affiliate ads.

Every visitor counts, don’t let any slip by because of your dull and lifeless headlines!

What are some of your favorite headlines? Any strategies that you’ve come up with to hook your readers in?

Make Your Blog Profitable With Social Power Linking

Social Power Linking has become one of today’s premier blog strategies, one that increases your links and traffic, thereby increasing profits from your blog.

Since that’s one of the main purpose of your blog site, learning how to use Social Power Linking (SPL) to your advantage is not only wise, but essential in today’s Web 2.0 world.

Because you are using a WordPress blog platform (you have been reading, right?), you are perfectly set up to have guest “authors” on your blog.

Again, I’m sure you’ve been reading about keeping content current and fresh, and how to hire out and delegate some writing duties. One great way to do that is to partner with another blogger in your niche, and post for each other. This is a great way to “get more bang for your buck,” consolidate your efforts, and make your posts go a long way.

Using comments, articles, helpful links you stumble upon around the net, or short snippets of information keep your site fresh. Using trackbacks consistently solidifies your efforts further, by getting you a link from every one of your posts on other sites.

More posts means more keywords in the search engines. If you are working on a niche blog, then you are hopefully familiar with the Authority Black Book, the tell-all for online marketers.

More posts, more links, higher page ranking in the search engines, and more traffic.

Another way to use Social Power Linking to your advantage to gain links and increase your traffic is the idea of linkbaiting.

Linkbaiting basically refers to using posts that have high controversy or high interest, compelling others to click through. Some would argue that the “baiting” part is bad or unethical, but if the information you are presenting is worthy, and it compels visitors to click through, then there is really no harm. In fact, you will gain links and traffic, which is the point of the whole exercise.

More controversial linkbaiting strategies are often used, however, giving the whole concept a bad name at times. Linkbaiting strategies such as attacking other bloggers to get them to respond to you would be an example of an unethical use of linkbaiting.

If you are just using a post to generate a buzz and some traffic, then that’s not going to cause any problems!

Use social sites to your advantage when you are trying Social Power Linking techniques. Whether you choose Technorati.com, Digg.com, MyBlogLog.com, Propeller.com, or any of the other thousands of choices, spread the word!

Get your posts on several sites, and link them to each other. Build your online network and your online community of followers, who will be waiting impatiently for your next posting. When you are in the online marketing world, clearly “the more the merrier” is the way to go.

Have you tried Social Power Linking (SPL) techniques? Have you seen any increase in your page ranking or traffic flow? How about increased profits? Tell us more…..

Social Media Optimization vs. SEO

Monday, June 2, 2008

How can you decide which way is the best way to optimize your website?

With all of the information available to you, and all of the choices, you don’t just want to have a trial-and-error way of figuring things out, right?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is basically the idea of increasing and improving traffic to your website through the use of keywords, content, and links.

Here’s how it works: Your site gets picked up by search engines when people search for certain keywords contained within your site. Rankings in the search engine results are dependent on many factors, including number of links, relevant content, activity, number of visitors, and other factors.

Social media optimization is a technique using “word-of-mouth” advertising and viral marketing to promote your website.

Here’s how it works: Your site gets bookmarked by people who find it interesting or helpful; the more times you are noticed, or bookmarked, the more popular you become. You get links from other people, some are comments, some are trackbacks, but you will gain links this way. More popularity brings more visitors, gets you a higher ranking.

SEO techniques were some of the first ones used by Internet marketers.

Many, many people have found tremendous success by sticking to these strategies and methodically learning about them and following the tips from the pros.

This is considered a more “organic” approach, since traffic is driven to your site based primarily on the content of your site.

Generally speaking, anyone clicking through to your site (if you’ve used good SEO) is a potential customer—they’ve been looking for exactly what you have to offer, and here you are at the top of the search engine results…….of course, there are some pretty shady SEO techniques out there, and using those methods may not get you the same amazing results.

Cutting corners doesn’t work in this industry.

While newer to the game, social media optimization (SMO) techniques bring a slightly different twist in, by maximizing the effects of the growing social Internet.

Seeing as most of the traffic on the Internet is to and from these social media sites, it’s a brilliant idea to use that traffic for marketing purposes and drive it right to your site.

One minor problem right now with SMO is that much of your traffic generated through SMO techniques may not be “customer” traffic at this point, because it’s coming from “social” networks that are not purely identified yet.

However, this strategy is quickly gaining speed, and the availability of networks and affiliate programs continues to increase, allowing connections between like-minded folks to occur more frequently.

Right now, most of the pros will agree that an eclectic approach to Internet marketing is probably the best way to get your website out there and start experiencing success.

Carefully choosing the best techniques, learning all of the “ins and outs” of those techniques, having a load of patience, and sticking to your plan will pay off in the long run. There is no quick answer for Internet marketing, and you can’t fool the Web!

Stick with these techniques long enough, and they will work!
