7 Tips To Eradicate Bloggers Block
Tue, Jul 10, 2007
Internet search engines estimate that there are close to 75 million blogs online at the moment and that two new blogs are published every single second (both are phenomenal statistics). To remain competitive and ahead of your peers it is a necessity that as a blog writer you produce innovative, fresh, interesting, compelling and unique content almost daily. This is where problems begin to arise: placing far too much pressure upon you. It is not easy, in fact it is far from undemanding, particularly if your site is established and you have almost run of material and topics to write about. However, the following 7 tips will help eradicate writers block: 1. Start It. Everything has to start somewhere, so just get the first sentence out in the open. Start with a word and leave the rest follow. Write one sentence, then another, then another and so on. You can always go back and change material because as one writes more, the clearer their thoughts become and the clearer their writing becomes. 2. Google It. Try “Google-ing†the topic that you are considering to write about by searching for keywords around the topic. It may just be that you find material about past topics, something interesting that you have not heard about, future news, etc. The list is endless and well worth a try. It will also interest your readers by having a better rounded opinion in your post. 3. Drink It. Have some water. Dehydration causes you to loose focus and something to drink may just get your writing juices flowing. Other than that do something that get you moving: a cup of coffee or a shower, etc. 4. Break It. Take a break, have a KitKat. It is important to rest your brain by doing something not related to writing or the subject that you are writing about. Take a walk by yourself or with your dog, relax with your family, anything that takes your mind off writing your blog. 5. Multiply It. Start to write more than one single topic. The more you might get stuck on one topic, the more ideas that jump into your head regarding another topic and therefore you never remain idle for long periods. If you are difficulty with one topic, start a new one and some back to the original topic in time. 6. List It. Make list and sub lists of topics that you can write about. They don’t have to make sense or even be related. Just start to write. Lists help when creating headings and topics for the article you are writing. 7. Talk It. Speak to someone “in the knowâ€. Speaking to an expert in the area you are writing will force you think in ways you haven’t considered. Failing this speak to someone who knows nothing regarding your topic: by seeing what they learn from speaking to you might help you better understand your readers’ needs. |
