Blogging 101

1. Write What You Know

It sounds simple, in reality this is the number one mistake everyone makes.  Blogging for profits is easier than it sounds.  However many people make a miscalculation and choose a topic they know little or nothing about.

So what should your blog be about?

Choose a topic you are familiar with.  Readers can sense when you are passionate and knowledgeable about a topic.  The best thing you can do is choose your hobbies and interests to become topics for your blog.

2.  Research Your Topics and Keywords

Correctly chosen keywords can have a huge impact on search engine results and the ability for people to find your site or blog.

If your blogging for profit, the keywords are very important.   Search engines like google allow you to see which keywords are typed in most frequently.  But also keep in mind that primarily you need to write for your readers. Keeping a very good healthy balance between visitor optimization and pleasing the engines is a good starting point.

3. Avoid Offensive Material

Most visitors to your blog will be genuinely interested in the material you’re writing about.  Unless the topic requires a questionable flare, the best advice is, keep it clean.

Some people will be turned off your blog because it contained inappropriate material for their situation.  Any one person that’s offended will tell everyone they know, and the social networking begins.

On the other hand most people whom would not be offended will not be turned off of your blog, simply because it is not off color enough.

Remember your blogging for profit, so be professional.

4. Use Spell Check and Proper Grammar

Misspelled words and choppy sentences will turn people off from your blog.  Believe it or not it may also give you a bad reputation.

You don’t want people to visit your site, just to make fun of the content.

Blogging for profit is not the most formal pursuit, however carefully placed words and proper punctuation will go very far.

5. Promote Your Blog

Imagine your pursuit of profits like a strategic war.  You have to make sure your troops are prepared and properly placed.  Joining social bookmarking services  will offer you limitless marketing potential.

Leaving genuine blog comments will keep your blog popularity up.

Submitting your stories to social media centers will continually move you up on the list until you are actually the number 1 blog before you start at the end.

This rotation ensures the maximum blogging for profit potential.

It is so much easier than it sounds.

Good luck, happy blogging.

I’ ve just started to promote via social bookmarking and news site since I read the Authority Black Book yesterday.

It’s a lot of work, I will see after a couple of days how it has influenced my traffic.

I enjoyed the interview with Mrk Ling, could you have a look at my blog and give me some advices?

I want to make it an authority site as well. It is the time to finish with junk and useless sites.

I was using my blog to drive traffic to the main site (the old way), but since I’ve stumble upon Jack Humpfrey Traffic report and some others like Yaro, I realized that I was really missing the boat, and I am changing the focus on my blog.

It will still be about affiliate marketing, but with the web 2.0.

Thank you for your help and advices Peter.
